MONSTERS is a series of speculations on an abandoned building in Charlotte, North Carolina. The building, which was once occupied by a dry cleaning business, is now affectionately referred to as the Roofless Building (for obvious reasons). MONSTERS speculates on how the building could be used as an art space for temporary exhibitions. MONSTERS play the role of lighting, either for works of art or live performances. Currently, only two MONSTERS have been realized.

On the wall opposite the Monsters, a pivoting canopy was installed under the direction of Chris Campbell and James Mattision. Both projects were completed in collaboration with Bryan Shields, Jen Shields, Chris Campbell, James Mattison, Charlotte Whitlock, Aaron Cote, and Paul Koska.
